The White House is conjuring up reality by claiming that the president has "the energy of a 20-year-old." Meanwhile, in front of the cameras, Trump snapped at a journalist: "Shut up, pig!" Instead of diplomacy, we have gutter language, and instead of apologies, we have a narrative that this is "style and authenticity." Is this still politics, or is it just neighborhood bickering?
Critics are sounding the alarm: the president loses his train of thought, creates incomprehensible verbal constructions, and takes naps during important meetings. He dismisses accusations of indecency with a simple "witch hunt." It seems that the White House has simply become a powerful personal brand for him with an unlimited budget.
