4. Before you can collect cash at a Bitcoin ATM, it must be confirmed on the blockchain. You can check if your order is ready for processing on the Check Transaction Status page. This usually takes a few seconds, but some networks take up to 40 minutes.
5. Is the transaction ready? Great, time for the next step. Go to a compatible listed Bitcoin ATM and scan the barcode and your ID. The the Bitcoin ATM will dispense cash.

You can also sell directly at a Bitcoin ATM without using the website. The process is very similar—you simply transfer to the address displayed on the Bitcoin ATM screen (QR code) instead of on the website. Just follow the instructions on the screen. Learn more about this method on the How to sell Bitcoin for cash page.

The printout shows two codes: the QR code at the top and the barcode at the bottom.

The first one—the QR code—is used to deposit cryptocurrency to an address so you can withdraw local currency at a Bitcoin ATM. It may also appear during a purchase on the website or on the Bitcoin ATM screen. This is the operator’s address. You scan it with your phone to transfer funds to it and receive a barcode.

The second one—the barcode—is used to withdraw funds in local currency. After placing it on the scanner at the top of the machine, the cash withdrawal process will begin.

A cryptocurrency wallet (simply an app on your phone) is one of the most popular ways to store crypto. Bitcoin ATM operators usually do not have their own app and do not require you to download any specific one, leaving the choice up to you. Choose any wallet you like (e.g., TrustWallet, MetaMask, others). You can think of a cryptocurrency wallet as a bank account or debit card, but for cryptocurrencies.

For experienced users: Bitcoin ATMs also Bitcoin ATMs wallets other than mobile apps, such as hardware wallets, paper wallets, etc.

1. Find the nearest Bitcoin ATM on the Bitcoin ATMs page.
2. Insert cash into the machine.
3. Scan the QR code of your crypto wallet or enter the address.
4. Confirm the transaction on the screen, including your ID document if requested, after checking that everything is correct.
5. Collect the transaction confirmation printout and check the updated cryptocurrency balance in your crypto wallet. Done!

In 99.9% of cases, this is because the ATM does not have enough cash. You can check cash levels on the map. In very rare cases, a bill may have gotten stuck in the machine. In that case, you will need to contact the operator’s support team. The funds will be refunded via a special cash code or in cryptocurrency.

There are several ways:

1. Adding to your next withdrawal: If you send Bitcoin to the same address or have multiple transaction codes with unclaimed funds, the amount will be added to your next withdrawal. The amounts will be combined and added to a single code, allowing you to withdraw cash at Bitcoin ATM.

2. Refund: Refunds are also possible; however, please note that amounts below 10 EUR / PLN / USD, etc., are refunded only for certain cryptocurrencies. Typically, such an amount would not be sufficient to cover the transaction fee (gas fee—for miners).

3. QR Code for a Specific Withdrawal in PLN: You can also select the “QR Code for a Specific Withdrawal in PLN” option. Enter the amount in PLN you wish to withdraw and generate the QR code. The wallet will adjust the amount of Bitcoin so that you receive exactly the amount you specified. This way, you avoid leaving “change” in the transaction codes.
