However, someone decided to spoil investors' champagne mood and let loose a rumor that all seed phrases of BTC had been leaked.

🔑 What should you know about seed phrases?

The seed phrase is the key to our cryptocurrency vault.
It is also called the recovery phrase or simply private key (private key).

It is formed by a set of 12 or 24 randomly generated words that we receive when we set up a wallet for our digital assets.

🔁 Private key vs. public key.

Sometimes people confuse the concepts of private key and public key - this, by the way, let's clarify:

• Private key (seed phrase) - is our slogan.
  Example:

  ❗ This information is never shared with anyone!
• Public key - that address of our portfolio, which is the equivalent of an account number.
  Example:
  bc1qxy2kgdygjrsqtzq2n0yrf2493p83kkfjhx0wlh
  ✔️ This string of letters and numbers we make available to entities, which are to send us the funds.

⚠️ Two key security issues

1️⃣ Rule: Not your keys, not your cryptocurrencies

Remember that all portfolios for which you do not have your seed phrases are not worth trusting.

2️⃣ Never store seed phrase digitally!

Don't write it down:

• in a notebook on your computer 💻
• on the phone 📱
• on cloud drives like Google Drive ☁️

Why:
Hackers already have special malware at their disposal today that can trace private keys on our online devices.
