In the United States, Congress is passing yet another series of key bills for the digital asset market. It doesn't get any better than this, does it?

However, someone decided to dampen investors’ festive spirits and spread a rumor that all BTC seed phrases had been leaked.

🔑 What should you know about seed phrases?

A seed phrase is the key to our cryptocurrency wallet.
It is also called a recovery phrase or simply a private key.

It consists of a set of 12 or 24 randomly generated words that you receive when you set up a wallet for your digital assets.

🔁 Private Key vs. Public Key

Sometimes people confuse the terms " private key " and " public key "—let's take this opportunity to clarify:

• Private key (seed phrase) – That's our motto.
  Example:

  ❗ We never share this information with anyone!
• Public key – that is our wallet address, which is essentially the equivalent of an account number.
  Example:
  bc1qxy2kgdygjrsqtzq2n0yrf2493p83kkfjhx0wlh
  ✔️ This sequence of letters and numbers We make it available to entities, which are supposed to send us the funds.

⚠️ Two Key Safety Issues

1️⃣ Rule: If you don't have the keys, you don't own the cryptocurrency

Keep in mind that any wallets for which you don't have your seed phrases cannot be trusted.

2️⃣ Never store your seed phrase in digital form!

Don't save it:

• in a notepad on the computer 💻
• on your phone 📱
• on cloud storage services like Google Drive ☁️

Why?
Hackers already have special malware at their disposal that can track down private keys on our devices online.
