During the first Warsaw edition of the Invest C&S conference, we spoke with Maciej Tomczyk, CEO of Krypto Ekipa, about the condition of the cryptocurrency market in 2025. At the center of the conversation were bitcoin, altcoins and the question that many investors are asking themselves today:
👉 is it still worth investing in altcoins on the eve of 2026?
Over the past few months, bitcoin has been doing far better than most altcoins. However, this does not mean that all alternative projects are in retreat - examples include Binance Coin (BNB) or Solana (SOL), which recently reached a new ATH (All Time High).
However, Maciej Tomczyk points out that it is not altcoin's lack of potential, but the improper management of the investment portfolio that is the cause of many people's losses.
"Most people's problem is that they divided their portfolios badly. In the previous bull market, many investors bet everything on small, risky projects - and today they are the ones in the red."
Maciej stresses that diversification is key.
📊 Those who invested wisely - some in Bitcoin, some in large and stable altcoins like Solana or BNB - cannot complain today.
In contrast, those who put 100% of their capital on small projects are often left with nothing.
"If someone divided their wallet badly, there was simply no altseason in their wallet."
According to Tomczyk, capital will no longer return to the altcoin market as a whole as it did in previous cycles.
The market has changed:
Many projects raised far more capital than they needed, and as a result, their development slowed down.
"It used to be that a project needed $5 million, and today it's raising $20. This is no longer healthy. The greed of projects and investors has led to a situation where many market participants simply haven't made any money."
In previous years, it was enough to keep track of who was investing in a project.
If names like Coinbase Ventures or Binance Labs appeared, this was considered a guarantee of success.
Today, this approach no longer works.
"In this cycle, it's not a game. You have to look at projects that don't have a lot of venture capital and offer a level playing field for investors."
Maciej points out some practical rules:
The fewer funds raised, the greater the potential for growth.
Projects that do not need hundreds of millions of dollars often operate more efficiently and transparently.
Too many VCs means selling pressure and a lack of space for retail investors.
Today, investors are increasingly opting for community fundraising, where the rules are equal for all.
Analyze:
Tomczyk stresses that profit realization is key in the current cycle.
It is not worth "waiting for 100x" - it is better to systematically sell on increases and respect your stablecoins.
"I appeal to people - respect your capital, respect stablecoins. Don't put everything back into the market."
In 2025, trends in the cryptocurrency market are changing from week to week.
Not long ago, there was talk of BNB Chain, then of Solan, and today it is hard to point to one dominant direction.
"Trends end very quickly. That's why it's worth thinking twice about where we put our money."
Although the altcoin market in 2025 no longer resembles that of a few years ago, investment opportunities can still be found - provided one approaches it with reason and humility.
👉 Key findings from the interview with Maciej Tomczyk:
"This cycle is not easy - but whoever can analyze, sell with their head and choose the right projects can still win."
